Rangers secured an easy 3-0 win on Wednesday but Neil McCann has been quoted by BBC Live as criticising Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos for his way of celebrating – with the Colombian striker scoring a brace for Michael Beale’s side.
The 26-year-old took his tally to nine goals for the season, six goals in Beale’s 11 games. The Colombian has returned to form under Beale, also laying on four assists. He was in lethal mode on Wednesday night, as Rangers beat Hearts.
Morelos had a goal disallowed, while Fashion Sakala had two ruled out. Rangers were in excellent form in what was a tricky fixture against an in-form Hearts side in their own back yard. But, The Gers were lethal, and efficient in attack.
But McCann picked on something about Morelos he “did not like”. The striker celebrated in front of the Hearts fans, for both of his goals. The second, celebrating after a VAR check. McCann criticised striker Morelos for his celebration.

“I don’t know why he does it. Pantomime villain. He reacted after his first one. Then he antagonises the Hearts fans. The second one, he has no reason to antagonise the Hearts fans. He runs away from the Rangers supporters. I don’t like it.”

What McCann has missed, is that Morelos thrives off being the pantomime villain. He gets that buzz off being the enemy. That is what gets the best out of the Colombia star, playing on the edge. Morelos is back to his best form.
He now has 10 goal involvements in Beale’s 11 games, four goals in his last three League games. Morelos is back to his best after a tricky spell under Gio van Bronckhorst and if it means celebrating in front of away fans, then so be it.
