Neil McCann admits Celtic made an offer for Jack Hendry, but it was not enough

Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for the Dundee ace this month.

Dundee boss Neil McCann addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Hamilton Academicals tomorrow, and delivered an interesting update on the future of Jack Hendry, who has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic this month, as quoted by the Daily Record.

The 22-year-old defender has really impressed this season, making 23 Scottish Premiership appearances for Dundee so far this term, and unfortunately for his club, his fine performances have not gone unnoticed.

The Daily Record claim that Hendry is valued at around £1.5 million, and that would actually represent good value in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market.

The Hoops obviously have a very different figure in mind, however, following McCann’s comments when speaking to the media.

The 43-year-old shared how they have received a bid for the talented centre-back, but that it was nowhere near enough, as quoted by the Daily Record:

“There’s been a bid, a low bid, very low, but nothing since. I would think there would be more interest in the player but clearly they were told it wasn’t enough and that will be the message if it continues in that vein.”

Brendan Rodgers will certainly be looking to bolster his ranks at Parkhead between now and the end of the transfer window, but it looks like Celtic will have to increase their offer for Hendry, if they are to sign him before the transfer window slams shut.
