Neil Lennon’s response when asked if he wants to manage Celtic again

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon is in charge of Hibernian at the moment.

Hibernian manager Neil Lennon revealed on the Live Scottish Football Extra show on BT Sport 2 on Friday evening (broadcast from 7pm, December 2, 2016) that he applied for the Celtic job in the summer.

Lennon was in charge of Celtic from 2010 until 2014, and achieves quite a lot of success at the Scottish club.

The 45-year-old won the league title thrice and the Scottish Cup twice as manager of the Bhoys.

The former Northern Ireland midfielder did not achieve much success at Bolton Wanderers and was appointed the Hibernian manager in the summer.

Lennon has revealed that he applied to become the Celtic manager again in the summer.

The Bhoys were looking for a replacement for Ronny Deila, who parted company with the Glasgow giants at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Celtic appointed former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as their manager.

“Well, I did apply for the job previously before Brendan got it,” said Lennon on the Live Scottish Football Extra show on BT Sport 2 on Friday evening (broadcast from 7pm, December 2, 2016) when asked if he wants to manage Celtic again. “That was something that appealed to me, but I am very, very happy here.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 37 points from 13 matches.

Hibernian are at the top of the Scottish Championship table at the moment with 31 points from 15 hames.
