Highly-rated Celtic talent Karamoko Dembele is reportedly attracting interest from English Premier League side Arsenal.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon previously described reported Arsenal target Karamoko Dembele as a ‘very, very special’ player as he in now being touted for a move to the Premier League.
TeamTalk have claimed that Arsenal are eyeing a raid for the services of the Celtic wonderkid, with European trio Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus also keen on the whizkid.
Despite only being, 16, Dembele has been talked about for some time now and towards the back end of last season, Lennon, who has won four Scottish Premiership titles as a manager, handed the teenager his senior Celtic debut against Hearts.
In the summer, Lennon was even more praising of the youngster, who could be heading to the Premier League soon, as these were his previous comments on his player.
“Karamoko is very, very special for his age,” Lennon told The Scottish Sun. “But again you don’t want to hype him up as he’s already had a lot of publicity. We’ll just keep him ticking along in the background and he’ll come along the way he should do.”
There’s no doubt that Celtic will want to keep hold of their player, but with football, money talks and clubs are always looking for the best talents at all times.
Whilst Celtic are a powerhouse in Europe, and they can keep hold of their best talents, it has to be said that they simply wouldn’t be able to match the spending power from teams down south.
And if Arsenal do push forward with their interest in Dembele then, like Kieran Tierney in the summer, Celtic’s resolve will be tested in big ways.
Until then, Dembele will continue to build his talents with Celtic’s youngsters and he will be hoping to knock on Lennon’s door to try and build on that debut he made last season.
