Celtic manager Neil Lennon has suggested to The Daily Record that he is open to sending Vakoun Issouf Bayo out on loan.

According to BBC Sport, St Mirren want to sign Bayo on loan from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that manager Jim Goodwin wanted to secure the services of the 23-year-old forward in the January transfer window.

Talks are going on between the two clubs over a loan transfer this summer, according to the report.

Lennon has suggested that he is open to sending the Ivory Coast international out on loan this summer, but he is not aware of any interest from St Mirren.

Lennon told The Daily Record about Bayo: “I’m not aware of that. But it’s something we may look at. First things first, we need to get Vakoun fit and take it from there.”

Leaving on loan

Much was expected of Bayo when he arrived at Celtic from Dunajska Streda in January 2019.

The youngster has struggled for playing time and with injury problems, and it is hard to see him get too many games ahead of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths this campaign.

It would make sense for the youngster to go out on loan and get some decent playing time this season.
