Celtic manager Neil Lennon has told The Scottish Sun that he will not sell reported Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan target Kristoffer Ajer in the summer transfer window.

The Scottish Sun has claimed that Italian giants Milan are interested in signing Ajer from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Sporten reported in March that Tottenham in the Premier League want to secure the services of the 22-year-old central defender this summer.

However, Lennon has made it clear that Celtic will not sell the Norway international, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder.

Lennon told The Scottish Sun about Ajer: “He’s got a couple of years left on his contract and I want him here and the club wants him here.”

Tottenham Hotspur move?

Ajer is a very talented and promising young defender who will get better in the coming years.

With Celtic aiming to make it 10 Scottish Premiership titles in a row next season, the Glasgow giants are unlikely to sell the youngster even for a sizeable transfer fee this summer.

However, Spurs could do with a dynamic and talented centre-back such as Ajer.

After all, with Jan Vertonghen set to leave Tottenham at the end of the season, head coach Jose Mourinho will need a new centre-back.
