The Rangers boss admitted he’d like Aberdeen captain at Ibrox.

Hibernian boss Neil Lennon has had his fair share of clashes with Rangers in the past, during his seven years as a player and four years as manager at Parkhead. This week the Northern Irishman has again been aiming his daggers at Rangers, specifically their new manager Pedro Caixinha.

It came after the Gers boss openly discussed his hopes of signing Ryan Jack from Aberdeen this summer. The comments did not sit well with Dons boss Derek McInnes and Lennon was also not happy with the Rangers manager.

Speaking to BT Sport, as reported by The Scotsman, Lennon made it clear that the Ibrox supremo should not be talking about other teams players:

“He shouldn’t talk about players who are still at a club.

“A lot of clubs like ourselves would be interested in Ryan Jack but you don’t talk about it publicly and I think that irked Derek as well and he has every right to have a go back.”

Rangers take on Aberdeen tonight, in what should be a spiky affair after the build-up to the clash.

Jack, who is out of contract in the summer, remains a top target for Rangers as Caixinha aims to improve the Rangers side after a disappointing campaign back in the Scottish Premiership.

They look set to finish in third, behind Aberdeen and runaway champions Celtic – with Jack the type of player Rangers need if they are to challenge again soon.

But perhaps the Portuguese should have been more tactile in his interest for the Aberdeen captain.
