Neil Lennon once called Ofir Marciano ‘world class’ during his time at Hiberian – could a reunion be on the cards at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic?

Neil Lennon, Interim manager of Celtic looks on ahead of the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on March 31, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

During Neil Lennon’s first spell in charge of Celtic, he worked very closely with an Israeli agent by the name of David ‘Dudu’ Dahan.

During that time, a number of Dahan’s clients arrived at Parkhead, ranging from inspired additions like Nir Bitton and Beram Kayal to famous flops like Stefan Scepovic and Amido Balde. So the fact that Dahan has posted a photo on Instagram of himself visiting the Glasgow giants has certainly got fans talking.

What does this mean? Does Lennon have the job full-time and is now discussing summer targets? Either way, the 47-year-old should be seriously considering making a move to bring another of Dahan’s clients to Celtic.

Hibernian goalkeeper Ofir Marciano was a key player during the Irishman’s time in charge of Easter Road after all, establishing himself as one of the most talented shot-stoppers in the Scottish Premiership.

Lennon even lauded Marciano’s ‘world class’ ability after Hibs beat Kilmarnock 3-0 in 2017, comparing him to Celtic stopper Craig Gordon in quotes reported by the Daily Record.

And with Gordon himself past his best and Dorus de Vries expected to leave this summer, don’t rule out Celtic targeting a new goalkeeper to provide competition for Scott Bain.

Marciano, an experienced glovesman who Lennon knows well, certainly fits the bill. Something for The Hoops’ interim boss to consider then with Dahan returning to Glasgow.
