It takes a brave man to write off Celtic’s Scott Brown.

Neil Lennon has admitted to The Scottish Sun that he is surprised by Celtic captain Scott Brown’s fitness in training.
Brown, a £4.4 million signing in 2007 [The Guardian], turned 34 in June and is very much in the twilight of his Hoops career.
But the no-nonsense Celtic figure remains a key player at Parkhead and won a host of individual awards following the 2017-18 campaign, having been written off as ‘finished’ earlier in the season.
He led Lennon’s side to victory over Sarajevo in midweek as the Scottish giants progressed into the second round of Champions League qualifying.
And the Northern Irish manager concedes that his ‘incredible’ endurance in training indicates to him that there’s life in the old dog yet.
He told The Scottish Sun: “I look at Scott in training, and with any of the fitness work he is at the front. He has incredible cardiovascular capacity.
“Even at the end of the game last Wednesday he was still running forward. He has that unbelievable stride where he eats up the ground. At 34 there is no sign of him slowing down just yet. His athleticism and fitness levels are still remarkably high for a player of his age.”
Brown will be desperate to captain Celtic to a ninth successive Premiership title this season, going to within one of the unprecedented 10-in-a-row.
And it could well happen, but Rangers under Steven Gerrard look like they’re going to come back with a vengeance this term and it’ll be fascinating to see whether Lennon’s side and ‘Broony’ can hold them off.
