Celtic gave Jeremie Frimpong his debut on Wednesday night.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has told BBC Sport that he thought new signing Jeremie Frimpong was ‘excellent’ against Partick Thistle last night.
The Bhoys were in Scottish League Cup action last night, and were looking to book a place in the semi-finals having won four of the last five Scottish League Cup finals.
Partick Thistle visited Parkhead in search of a major giantkilling under new boss Ian McCall, but they were thrashed 5-0 by Lennon’s men.
Vakoun Issouf Bayo got the ball rolling before Tom Rogic added a second, Olivier Ntcham hit two and Scott Sinclair rounded off the win with the fifth.
Lennon will be happy with such a convincing win, and with the performance of defender Frimpong as he made his Celtic debut.
The 18-year-old joined Celtic from Manchester City earlier this month, and whilst he’s been billed as one for the future, he was handed a start at right back last night.

Lennon suggested that Frimpong was ‘excellent’, and having really impressed in training, Celtic have high hopes for the Dutchman, especially after last night’s display.
“He took the opportunity and was excellent,” said Lennon. “He’s really impressed us in training and it was a great debut for him. He’s very quick, strong for his size and very good on the ball. We’re hoping for big things from Jeremie as he goes along,” he added.
