Celtic ended the transfer window strongly, tying up a trio of deal on deadline day.

The Scottish champions landed Greg Taylor, Jeremie Frimpong and Lee O’Connor.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has praised the impact and hard work put in by recruitment chief Nicky Hammond.

Lennon told The Evening Express: “He has worked tirelessly, he has been here, there and everywhere, he has been around Europe looking at players, meeting agents, club representatives, talking to people on the phone constantly. He is so diligent.

“I have enjoyed working with him the last few weeks and we have had a good week and everything starts to look even more promising. The players we brought in, a lot of it is down to his hard work.”

Celtic also secured a deal on loan for Mohamed Elyounoussi before the deadline, as well as Moritz Bauer.

Hammond has focused largely on signing players from English clubs and used his knowledge, contacts, and Celtic’s pulling power to do so.

With the triple swoop coming after an impressive Old Firm victory, positivity is rife again at Celtic, and Lennon’s job now is to maintain it and try and keep all of his new signings happy.

Celtic are left with an exciting squad and some real talent for the future as well as the present and they could reap the benefits of this transfer window for years to come.
