Celtic manager Neil Lennon has questioned why Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are favourites for the Old Firm derby at Ibrox this weekend, as quoted on Skysports.com.

Bookmakers have made Rangers as favourites to win the Scottish Premiership game on Sunday, despite the Hoops having won the league title for the past eight seasons.

Lennon told Sky Sports: “If the bookies think that Rangers are favourites then good. That suits me fine.

“I don’t know why [Rangers are favourites] because our form has been fantastic. We’re in goalscoring form and we’re winning games convincingly.

“It’s not bad being the underdog with the way we’re playing at the minute. I’ll take that.”

In form

Rangers are a team in form, with Steven Gerrard’s side playing better than before and also getting positive results.

Playing at home also gives the Gers an advantage, and perhaps that is the main reason why Rangers are the favourites to win the Old Firm derby.

True, Celtic have a strong team and the likes of Scott Brown and James Forrest know all about handing the atmosphere in a Old Firm derby, but there is a positive vibe about Rangers at the moment.

However, Celtic do turn up in the big games, and time and time again, the Hoops do win the tough matches.

If the Bhoys score first against Rangers at Ibrox, then it is going to be very hard for the Gers to stage a comeback.
