Glasgow Rangers face a tricky game on Wednesday despite going to the top of the table with a win at Ibrox at the weekend.
The Light Blues currently sit at the top of the Scottish Premiership after winning 1-0 at the weekend. They also have Hibernian to partially thank after they denied Celtic the chance to go the summit by beating them 2-0 at Easter Road on the same day.
But Hibs will be looking to make it back-to-back wins against the Old Firm on Wednesday as Rangers travel to face Lennon’s men. However, Lennon suggested that he is expecting a tough night given the work that Gerrard has done during his time at Ibrox.
“There’s never a good time to play a good team like Rangers. They’re a different animal this season – difficult to beat and Stevie has added more steel to them,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports.
“They are very athletic, well drilled.”
Interestingly, the home side did not win a single game between these two sides last season, with Hibs winning both games at Ibrox and Rangers winning one at Easter Road and drawing the other 5-5 in that incredible final day clash.
The Gers will be hoping that the wait for a home win continues beyond Wednesday’s clash before ending on Boxing Day when the two sides meet at Ibrox.
It would arguably be a very good statement for Gerrard’s men if they were able to bag the win that will keep them at the top of the table given the result that their opponents secured at the weekend.
