Celtic boss Neil Lennon has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he felt Scott Bain was ‘very, very good’ against Aberdeen despite conceding three times.
The Bhoys travelled to Pittodrie this afternoon in search of a big result, having lost to Rangers and AC Milan at Parkhead over the last eight days.
It ended up being a difficult day though, as Lewis Ferguson scored from the spot having been hauled down by Celtic ace Olivier Ntcham, only for Callum McGregor to equalise after the break.
A topsy-turvy second half then saw Aberdeen regain the lead, with Ryan Hedges bundling the ball home, before Leigh Griffiths bagged a leveller and Ryan Christie gave Celtic their first lead of the game from the penalty spot.
Celtic thought they had done enough for all three points, but McGregor brought down Connor McLennan inside the box, with Ferguson scoring his second penalty of the day.
The draw was compounded by Rangers beating Livingston 2-0, meaning Celtic are now six points behind their Old Firm rivals in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Lennon is under increasing pressure after some disappointing results, and there was a surprise in his team as Scott Bain started in goal, with under-fire summer signing Vasilis Barkas nowhere to be seen.
Lennon noted that Celtic need to stop making mistakes, but wouldn’t blame Bain as he felt the Scot was ‘very, very good’ despite the draw, seemingly absolving him of any culpability for the goals.
“I think the players have had a tough week,” said Lennon. “They could have played better. But we will improve. I am confident of that. And we will get players back. There is a long, long way to go. But we have to tidy up defensively. We are making too many individual mistakes and collective mistakes. That is not on the goalkeeper. I thought (Scott) Bainy was very, very good today,” he added.
