Celtic manager Neil Lennon has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that he is interested in signing Albian Ajeti from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Celtic have agreed to sign Ajeti on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club West Ham in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that the 23-year-old striker will undergo a medical at the Glasgow giants on Wednesday, with the Hoops having an option to make the loan deal permanent next summer for £5 million.

Lennon has suggested that he is indeed interested in signing the Switzerland international striker this summer.

However, the Celtic boss has played down suggestions that a deal has already been agreed, but he does hope to get it sorted this week.

Lennon told The Glasgow Evening Times when asked if the Ajeti deal has been completed: “I’m not aware of that. I was talking to Nick and Peter on Monday and hopefully we will have some sort of resolution this week.”

Meanwhile, Tam McManus has given his take on Twitter on the performance of Leigh Griffiths for Celtic against Hibernian on Monday.

Griffiths was in action for the Hoops in their 3-1 victory over McManus’s former club Hibernian in a pre-season friendly match on Monday, as reported by The Daily Record.
