Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon takes Hibernian to Ibrox for a clash with Glasgow Rangers tomorrow.
Neil Lennon has admitted to The Scotsman that some of the comments Rangers fans level at him are “quite funny”.
The Celtic legend is gearing up for his first trip to Rangers since 2012 as he brings newly-promoted Hibernian to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Lennon, who played for and managed Celtic, is set for a hostile reception as he heads to the home of the Hoops’ bitter Old Firm rivals tomorrow.
The Northern Irishman might be Rangers’ least favourite non-Gers figure of recent decades, and was sent to the stands during his last stint in the opposition dugout five years ago.
And although Lennon is expecting a barrage of abuse, he admits that he has grown fond of certain comments about him.
“The majority of time you can blank it out or laugh it off. You have to find some humour. If you don’t have a sense of humour there is no point in being in it. Some of the comments are quite funny.
“We live in a world of social media where people make scathing remarks that are way beyond the pale but a lot are laced with a lot of humour and I find that funny. “You have to laugh at yourself at times, you can’t take yourself too seriously.
“I have a lot of good memories playing and managing there. “It is a great venue, it is a great amphitheater of football, a great atmosphere and you sink or swim. “And I like to think most of the time I swam through it.”
On the pitch, both sides go into the clash on the back of good wins.
Rangers, under Pedro Caixinha, beat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park, with Graham Dorrans grabbing two goals on his debut, while Hibs beat Partick Thistle 3-1 to ensure a winning Premiership return.
