Neil Lennon has suggested on BBC Radio 5 Live why Teemu Pukki could not achieve success at Celtic.
Lennon signed Pukki, now at Norwich City in England, in his first spell as Celtic manager.
The 49-year-old was the manager of the Hoops from 2010 until 2014 and then again from 2019 to February of 2021, and he believes that it was too soon for Pukki to move to the Glasgow giants.
Lennon said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Teemu Pukki, who is scoring goals at Norwich whether be in the Championship or the Premier League, I signed Teemu eight or nine years ago, he scored maybe 10, 12 goals but it was just maybe too soon for him in that environment, and it didn’t work out the way we wanted it to.”
Pukki moved to Celtic from German club Schalke in the summer of 2013 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £3 million.
The 31-year-old Finland international striker struggled to make an impact at Celtic Park and joined Brondby in the summer of 2014 on a loan deal before making the move permanent in the summer of 2015.

According to Sky Sports, Pukki scored nine goals in 37 appearances for Celtic.
The striker moved to Norwich in 2018 and has been superb for the Canaries.
Pukki scored 26 goals in the Championship this season to guide Norwich back to the Premier League.
The striker scored 11 goals in the Premier League last season, while in 2018-19, he found the back of the net 29 times in the Championship.
