Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon has praised Celtic’s performance against Manchester City to BBC Sport, saying several stars surpassed themselves.
The Scottish champions hosted the Premier League leaders on Wednesday evening in their second Champions League group game.
Many were fearful for Brendan Rodgers side, especially after their 7-0 mauling at the hands of Barcelona in the opening game.
Instead, the Hoops put in a performance of the highest order, taking the lead three times in the eventual 3-3 draw.

It was a game that saw all of their players putting in displays that showed they belong at this level, but Lennon picked out four in particular for praise.
“Celtic were brilliant tonight. You have to give a lot of credit to Brendan Rodgers – the way he set the team up, the mentality, his substitutions,” he told BBC Sport.
“Some of the players really surpassed themselves – Dembele, Sinclair, Scott Brown again. Craig Gordon restored his reputation as well.”

Celtic must now look to build on this superb performance when they take Borussia Monchengladbach next time around.
The result leaves them in a decent position in Group C, with one point from their first two games leaving them three points behind City in second.
City take on Barcelona next and a defeat to the Spanish champions, coupled with a win over the Germans for Brendan Rodgers side, and Celtic could find themselves level on points.
Of course, getting the win is easier said than done but if they can replicate this display then there is no denying they can get all three points.
