Celtic boss Neil Lennon has told The Scottish Sun that he is planning for January signings despite fears over his future.

The Bhoys lost 2-0 at home to Ross County on Sunday afternoon, crashing out of the Scottish League Cup in the process.

Lennon has managed to cling onto his job long enough to take charge of this evening’s Europa League clash at AC Milan, but the end still seems nigh.

Lennon oversaw a Champions League qualifying exit to Ferencvaros, a 2-0 home defeat to Rangers, a dismal Europa League campaign and now that League Cup exit.

Defeat tonight would pile the pressure on Lennon, but he has been making comments about Celtic’s January transfer plans ahead of tonight’s game.

The Bhoys did bring in the likes of Vasilis Barkas, Shane Duffy, Diego Laxalt, David Turnbull and Albian Ajeti as well as renewing Mohamed Elyounoussi’s loan deal, meaning they did back Lennon with signings.

Lennon now claims the club are working in the background on potential deals, with the January window just a matter of weeks away.

Lennon admitted he wants to freshen up his squad and add quality, but he will need to turn results around in order to still be in charge by January.

“We have identified areas where we want to add and we are working away in the background on that,” said Lennon.

“Hopefully we will get a bit of business done in January that will freshen things up and hopefully add a bit of quality to the squad,” he added.
