Celtic boss Neil Lennon has told the Daily Record that Albian Ajeti will be in his side’s squad this evening.

Celtic are due to take on KR Reykjavik in Champions League qualifying tonight, and Ajeti could well make his competitive debut.

The Swiss striker only arrived at Celtic last week, and he is not quite up to speed to start for the Bhoys, but Lennon has hinted that the striker will be on the bench.

“He’ll be in the squad but he’s not ready to start. He’s got a bit more work to do,” Lennon said.

“I think he’ll be a very good signing for us going forward. I think he’s a natural goalscorer.”

Ajeti arrives at Celtic with a point to prove, after a rather miserable time at West Ham.

The 23-year-old failed to score for the Hammers, and will be looking to have a far greater impact north of the border.

Ajeti may have to get used to performing as a impact substitute initially at Celtic, as his chances of breaking into Lennon’s starting line-up immediately seem limited, with Odsonne Edouard still in such sparkling form.

Celtic head into tonight’s tie as the heavy favourites to seal the victory, as they look to progress further into Europe.
