Scott Sinclair is one of three players talking with Celtic over a new contract, according to Neil Lennon.

Neil Lennon has confirmed to The Record that Celtic are speaking to Scott Sinclair about a new contract.

The 30-year-old is out of contract at Celtic this summer and The Scottish Sun reported earlier this month that Sinclair was facing an ‘uncertain’ future in Glasgow.

The English winger, who joined the Bhoys for £3.5 million in the summer of 2016 [The Daily Mail], has been a revelation for the Scottish giants this season and losing him for free would be terrible.

But it looks like the Parkhead club might be getting their skates on in that regard, going by comments from interim boss Lennon, who also revealed that talks were being held with Mikael Lustig and Nir Bitton over their respective contracts.

Lennon, whose side host Rangers in an Old Firm tomorrow, told The Record: “Discussions are ongoing at the minute. Lustig and a few others are speaking as well, like Scott Sinclair and Nir Bitton.”

Of course, it doesn’t mean that Celtic will successfully tie Sinclair down to a new deal, but it’s very good that talks are happening at least.

The former Chelsea and Swansea City star was brought to Glasgow by Brendan Rodgers, who sensationally quit the club last month in a development which prompted questions over whether that departure would affect Sinclair.

He has 17 goals for Celtic in all competitions this season.
