Celtic boss Neil Lennon has told the Daily Mail that he isn’t aware of interest from Sheffield United in winger Scott Sinclair – and has been impressed how he’s returned to pre-season training.

The Bhoys are expected to make a number of changes this summer, with something of a rebuild on the cards for Lennon and co.

A number of players are moving on when their contracts expire at the end of today, and two new faces are in having signed Christopher Jullien and Luca Connell.

Speculation surrounds the futures of a number of players, and one of those is winger Sinclair, who was signed by ex-manager Brendan Rodgers back in 2016.

Sinclair, 30, has racked up 60 goals in 153 games for Celtic, but with just one year left on his contract, he’s now being linked with a move away.

The winger is wanted by Sheffield United according to The Scottish Sun, with Chris Wilder allegedly keen to launch a £2million bid for the winger.

Now though, Celtic boss Lennon has suggested that he’s not aware of Sheffield United’s interest being realised, and whilst there may well be interest, Celtic aren’t looking to sell.

Lennon added that he’s been impressed with how Sinclair has returned to pre-season training, praising him for ‘even better condition’ than he was in at the end of the season, and feels he has the bit between his teeth this summer.

“There’s nothing in that one that I’m aware of,” said Lennon. “Scott had another decent year in terms of his goal return and he has looked after himself really well over the summer and come back in really good condition. We are not looking to sell but there might be interest in him. It just hasn’t manifested himself.”

“I think Scott is happy here. The family is settled and he has had a great time of it at Celtic. The club has won nine trophies in three years and he has been a big part of that. He has come back in even better condition than he was at the end of last season and he has had the bit between the teeth in training,” he added.
