The Hibs boss offered his take on Rangers’ search for a new manager at Ibrox.

Outspoken Hibernian boss Neil Lennon chimed in on the debate regarding the Gers’ search for a new manager, suggesting that it is peculiar how long the Glasgow giants are taking to name Pedro Caixinha’s permanent successor, as quoted by the Scotsman.
Graeme Murty has been handed the job at Ibrox on a temporary basis, until the end of the season, as Rangers’ search for a permanent boss continues, following the sacking of Caixinha way back in October.
Murty has actually done a fine job during his time at the helm at Ibrox, and his Gers side are currently in the midst of a fine run of form that has seen them win their last three games.

Rangers are now just five points adrift of league leaders and bitter rivals Celtic, although Brendan Rodgers’ side have played a game less, and the Ibrox faithful are starting to believe that a sustained challenge for the title isn’t impossible after all.
Lennon addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference, and offered his take why the Gers are taking so long to make a permanent appointment at the helm, as quoted by the Scotsman:

“It’s a sign of the times. Five or 10 years ago, people would have snapped your hand off to be Rangers manager. It’s difficult for me to comment because I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. I was surprised Derek turned it down but there were obviously personal and other reasons for not taking the job. It is a bit peculiar that a club of that stature, it’s taken them so long to find a manager, but they will feel it’s important that it’s not just a short-term fix.”
Next up for Rangers is a trip to Lennon’s Hibernian side tomorrow night, and they will have to be at their very best, if they are to keep the pressure up on Celtic above them in the table.
