Hibernian manager Neil Lennon has suggested that he is interested in signing Scott Allan from Celtic in the January transfer window, as quoted in The Daily Record.

Allan joined Celtic from Hibernian in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £275,000.

The 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Celtic Park so far and spent the second half of last season on loan at Hibs.

Hibernian manager Lennon has suggested that he would like to bring the former Scotland Under-21 international midfielder back to Easter Road on loan in the January transfer window.

The Daily Record quotes Lennon as saying about Allan: “First of all he’d cost money.

“Second, we had a number of positions we wanted to take precedence and then Emerson Hyndman came to the party and he was a player we quite liked the look of.

“He is a Celtic player and it’s not for me to say whether we would be in for him again come January, but he is a player that thrived here in two spells.”

Hint?

Lennon’s aforementioned comments suggest that he is interested in signing Allan from Celtic in the January transfer window.

If the Hibs boss was not interested, then he would have flatly denied, but his comments indicate that he could make a move for the 26-year-old former Dundee United midfielder.

With chances limited at Celtic at the moment, it would make sense for Allan to make the switch to Hibernian in the January transfer window.
