Neil Lennon was named as Celtic’s new manager on Saturday.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed that he has already earmarked as many as three players as transfer targets.
Lennon’s future at Celtic has only been clarified for less than 48 hours, after he was offered the permanent manager’s position following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Hearts in the Scottish Cup final.
The victory sealed the Hoops’ historic treble Treble and was enough to see the Northern Irishman named as Brendan Rodgers’s long-term successor at Parkhead.
Now the emphasis goes on leading Celtic to a fourth domestic triple next season, and Lennon claims that groundwork is already being laid for the summer’s recruitment drive.
He told Herald Scotland: “We are looking at players at the minute. We have identified two or three players for a couple of positions already. We’ll see if we can get the ball rolling soon.”
It’s an exciting claim by Lennon. Rangers’ recruitment is already well underway at Ibrox and the last thing Celtic fans want is complacency in not matching their Old Firm rivals’ pro-active approach.
The last thing they want is to revel in success so long that they take their eye off the ball, but the 47-year-old’s comments illustrate that he and the Bhoys are focused on preserving this era of dominance and preparing to extend it next term.
