Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten 5-1 by Celtic in their latest match.

Neil Lennon has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 13th September, that there is an obvious gap between Glasgow Rangers and Celtic.
Rangers appeared to be closing the gulf in quality between themselves at Celtic last season, when they knocked their Glasgow rivals out of the Scottish Cup on penalties.
However, Rangers’ latest display at Parkhead was a wake up call for Mark Warburton’s side, as they were humiliated in the derby match.

The Ibrox side were beaten 5-1 by Celtic, and Lennon feels that the match simply served to highlight the gap between the two sides.
“I think Celtic played well, but always in an Old Firm game the first goal is important. Rangers played into Celtic’s hands. Going into the game there was a gulf between the teams anyway, and that manifested itself,” Lennon said.
“Whether it was a reality check, I’m not sure. I think Mark knew how difficult it was going to be, but the manner of the defeat… they’ll have to pick themselves up.
“Rangers will have to go back and look at where they are and ask how they close the gap. There is an obvious gap there, that’s been there for quite a while.”

Rangers were expected to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this term, but they are already playing catch up.
Rangers are now four points behind Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers’ side holding a game in hand.
Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Ross County, looking to put the disappointment of the Old Firm derby behind them.
