Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers will not win the title, says former Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

Rangers have finished third in the Scottish Premiership table for the past two seasons, but with Liverpool legend Gerrard now in charge of the Gers, there is optimism around Ibrox about this campaign.
Celtic remain the dominant force in Scotland and are favourites for the league title, but Rangers fans know that they have a chance, especially how the two sides have started the season.
Hibernian manager Lennon, though, has backed his former club Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
The former Northern Ireland international midfielder, who played for the Hoops from 2000 until 2007 and managed the Glasgow giants from 2010 until 2014, has also said that Rangers are firm favourites for the second place.
Lennon told BBC Sport: “I still think Celtic will win the league. Whether the gap gets closer remains to be seen.
“As for second place, you would have to say Rangers are firm favourites – there is obviously a significant improvement at Rangers.”

Closing the gap
Celtic have the best squad in Scotland, and despite their initial struggles this season, Rodgers’s team will get better.
What is important for Rangers this season is that they give their bitter Old Firm rivals a run for their money and close the gap.
With Gerrard in charge and a number of new players signed in the summer transfer window, the Gers should feel confident about making it hard for Celtic this season.
