Neil Lennon cut a frustrated figure after Celtic’s 0-0 draw at Hibernian today.
Celtic had plenty of chances to win the game and move another step toward an eighth successive Scottish Premiership title, but the Easter Road denied them.
A number of opportunities fell to Odsonne Edouard, who could and probably should have snatched the game at the death but he was denied by Ofir Marciano.
On 78 minutes, Tom Rogic, who replaced Olivier Ntcham on the hour mark, went close when he fired just wide, and Lennon feels that sliding in James Forrest was the better option for the Australia international.
The Northern Irishman also believes that his French hitman should have finished the late chance that came his way.
He told Celtic’s official YouTube channel, when asked about Edouard’s last-minute chance: “You’re thinking ‘goal’. He’s unlucky with the free kick – it’s a great free kick – but you fancy Odsonne to score that.
“We had a great chance with Tom. He could’ve slid Jamesy in but decided to take the shot himself. At times our decision making could’ve been better.”
It was Lennon’s third draw in nine games since returning to Glasgow following Brendan Rodgers’s departure in February.
He might be judged on whether the Bhoys win the Treble Treble, though these insipid draws will do nothing for his case of staying.
