Neil Lennon has suggested that he could be interested to try and sign Celtic midfielder Scott Allan in January.

Allan is arguably proving to be the forgotten man at Parkhead. He is yet to feature in any competition for Brendan Rodgers’ men this season, and it would hardly be a surprise if he was given the green light to leave when the window opens next month.
Hibernian signed the 27-year-old in the previous January window, and he performed well on loan at Easter Road, scoring three goals in 12 appearances for Lennon’s men. And ahead of the new year, Lennon has admitted that he would be interested in a similar deal this time around.
“Scott’s under contract. I don’t want to start headlines,” he said, as reported by The Sunday Post. “He’s a player we like, obviously. But these kind of players cost a lot of money.

“But if there was an opportunity there, we’d obviously look at it.”
The Sunday Post suggests that a deal could prove difficult due to Hibs snubbing Celtic’s summer offers for John McGinn. But it would be surprising if Celtic were not open to offers for Allan.

He has been impressive elsewhere, but he has only managed to make two starts and 15 appearances in total in the Scottish Premiership since arriving for £275,000 in 2015 (fee reported by Daily Record).
A loan may be difficult to agree given that Allan’s deal is set to expire in the summer. But perhaps Rodgers should seriously consider letting him head on loan to Hibs – if that proves to be the only offer on the table – as he has the quality to make an impact and potentially take some points off of their title rivals.
