£20 million-rated Rubin Kazan star Kvicha Kvaratskhelia has admitted that he is in talks regarding a move to Premier League side Leeds United, while speaking to Georgian publication Sportall

One of the most coveted young wingers in European football may dream of playing under Jurgen Klopp one day but, for now, Marcelo Bielsa will have to do.

Blisteringly quick, highly-ambitious and refreshingly two-footed, Kvaratskhelia looks tailor-made for Bielsa’s famously free-wheeling style.

Russian publication Soccer claimed in May that Victor Orta, Leeds’ director of football, had opened talks over a deal that would see Kvaratskhelia – a Juventus, Dortmund and Napoli target who nearly joined Bayern Munich in 2018 – seal a big-money move to West Yorkshire.

After Rubin Kazan’s sporting director admitted that he would not stand in the forward’s way, Kvaratskhelia has now broken his silence at last.

Are Leeds about to sign Kvaratskhelia?

“Negotiations are underway with many clubs. We are already in a decisive phase. Who are we negotiating with? I cannot say that,” Kvaratskhelia said before then doing precisely the opposite.

“Negotiations with Leeds? Yes, they have been conducted and may resume.”

Everton director Marcel Brands has already played down reports linking Kvaratskhelia with a move to Merseyside, insisting that, while his agent has been in touch, the Toffees are not interested as things stand.

It seems that the former Dinamo Tibilsi starlet would prefer to join the club on the other side of Stanley Park anyway.

“I think the most interesting thing would be working with Jurgen Klopp,” he added.
