According to Fabrizio Romano, FC Dallas forward Ricardo Pepi is expected to leave for a European club in January, amid interest from Liverpool.

Well, the reliable Italian journalist believes the 18-year-old is set to leave Major League Soccer in 2022, although Liverpool may lose out.
Romano states that Wolfsburg are frontrunners for the 7-cap United States international’s services in January, with negotiations ongoing.

Interestingly, 90min believe FC Dallas are open to selling Pepi for £11m, a sum which Liverpool should easily be able to pay.
Tutto Mercato Web believe Southampton are also interested in the teenager, who is making headlines over in the US.
Pepi scored 13 goals in 31 MLS games last term, and has also netted three goals in his seven caps for the United States – he appears to be a real gem.
Should Liverpool make a move for Ricardo Pepi?
In our view, this would be a fairly cheap way for Jürgen Klopp to add depth to his attack, while bringing a wonderkid to Anfield in the process.
Pepi – who has been likened to Robert Lewandowski – is capable of playing at both centre-forward and on the right.
In some ways, he would be a similar weapon to Diogo Jota, who himself is capable of playing at centre-forward as well as on the left flank.
Aside from the odd moment of magic, Divock Origi is not good enough to be relied on as a backup to Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Therefore, if Pepi really is available for just £11m, we feel Liverpool would be foolish not to bring him to the Premier League this winter.
If he can hit the ground running, then the American wonderkid could even have a big say in the Premier League title race.
