Sead Kolasinac of Arsenal was linked with a move earlier this week.
It was reported that Watford were keen to get the Arsenal left-back – who joined the Gunners back in 2017 – on loan.
With the January transfer window on the horizon, a lot of speculation will prove to be false.
But there could be legs in this particular story because this morning, the Watford Observer has claimed that talks have been opened to sign the Bosnia & Herezegovina international.
However, the report adds that the Hornets – who are one place above the Premier League relegation zone – won’t be shouldering his entire £100,000 per week wages and would like Arsenal to continue paying him a chunk of that fee.
Logical
It makes absolute sense for Arsenal and Kolasinac to leave in January.
Not only is his contract expiring in six months, but he has zero place in Mikel Arteta’s senior squad.
The Spanish manager has more than enough central defenders on the books and Nuno Tavares is a million miles ahead of him as Kieran Tierney’s understudy at left-back.
Ninety minutes of football in the Premier League this season illustrates that his race is run in terms of his Arsenal career and leaving – even if on loan – makes sense.
