Peter Crouch has suggested to BT Sport, during their live coverage, that Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino still needs to do more.

Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners over RB Leipzig last night, and they put in an accomplished display.

The Reds dominated the match from the outset, as they put one foot into the next round.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both hit goals for Liverpool in their impressive win.

But Firmino drew another blank, and Crouch feels that the £29 million Brazilian (BBC Sport) does need to start hitting the back of the net more often.

“Mane is a great player. Salah has been relentless throughout,” he said.

“Firmino needs to step up a little bit, I thought he played well tonight but it would be nice for him to get on the scoresheet a little bit more.”

Firmino has just six strikes to his name in 34 games this term.

The Liverpool forward has come under fire of late, with the Reds’ form dipping.

Firmino has never been a prolific scorer for Liverpool, but his current tally is below his usual standards.

It could be that Firmino’s place in Liverpool’s line-up does come under pressure shortly, as Diogo Jota is set to return from injury in the near future.
