A selection of supporters have reacted on Twitter to Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson being omitted from England’s U21 squad for the upcoming European U21 Championships.
Arsenal duo Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah were selected by Aidy Boothroyd, but Nelson was left out, as confirmed by England’s official Twitter account.
Some fans have questioned why Nelson didn’t go out on loan in order to showcase his talents because it’s clearly not being reconsigned now.
Nelson has hardly featured for Arsenal this season, but the same could be said for Nketiah, whose game time has fallen off a cliff.

Either way, Nelson will need to have a serious reality check in the summer because he needs to find a club that will provide him with regular football.
Whether that’s moving out on loan or leaving North London permanently, it needs to happen for the better of his career.
This is no doubt a step backwards for the versatile winger, who should use Smith Rowe as hope in how things can change in a matter of months.
