Owen Hargreaves was critical of Rodrigo during Leeds United’s 1-0 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday, as he told Premier League Productions.
The former England international claimed that Rodrigo needed to give his new Leeds boss, Jesse Marsch, ‘more’ during the game.
Rodrigo started the game for the Whites, before the £26 million man (BBC Sport) was hooked just after the hour mark for teenager, Joe Gelhardt.
With Patrick Bamford back from injury and fans craving for Gelhardt to be given a start, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rodrigo is dropped to the bench during these coming games.
But given the technical ability he has in his locker, Hargreaves was disappointed by what he was producing for his team at the King Power Stadium.
“Rodrigo needs to give him (Marsch) more,” said Hargreaves. “He’s one of the best technical players.
“He has really poor in crucial moments when they have needed him.”

This is going to be a fight right till the end for Leeds and they are going to have to show some serious bottle.
When that Elland Road crowd are on song, they can be a nightmare for many teams and that’s what will be needed in Marsch’s first home game in charge.
Aston Villa, who recorded a 3-3 draw against Leeds last month, will travel to Yorkshire on the back of a 4-0 win against in-form Southampton.
The positive for Leeds is that Villa won’t turn up next week to park the bus, so their all-action and aggressive style might just suit them and they could probably feed off it.
