Kevin Campbell has claimed that Josh Kroenke is ‘the boss’ at Arsenal, but if he ‘needs something serious’ then he will turn to his dad, Stan Kroenke, who is the ‘governor’, as he told the Highbury Squad.
The Arsenal legend added ‘that’s the difference’ between the duo in the north London boardroom.
When it comes to Kroenke senior, Arsenal fans don’t hear much from the man that owns their club.
Whilst Kroenke junior is the director at the club and he has, at times, communicated with fans when dealing with various issues.
Nonetheless, this is what Campbell made of the duo when discussing their roles at the club.
“Josh (Kroenke) is the boss of Arsenal,” said Campbell. “But Stan is the Governor. That’s the difference.
“So, whenever the boss needs something serious, then he has to go to the Governor, who makes the key decisions. That’s the difference.”
During the January transfer window, Arsenal didn’t spend a single penny much to the annoyance of the fans.
But was that down to the owners not dipping their hands into their pockets? Or was it Edu not being able to get deals over the line?
In the summer, Mikel Arteta was backed and those captures, such as Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale, are now proving to be top-quality signings.
If Arsenal don’t secure Champions League football this season, then it will seriously hurt their chances of signing the best of the best during the next window, so these final few months of the campaign will be massive for those at the Emirates.
