Liverpool fans cannot believe that Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, thinks that Jurgen Klopp’s men have been ‘very strong’ at home this season.
Prior to Liverpool’s stoppage-time 2-1 win against Aston Villa over the weekend, they had lost six home league games on the bounce, which was an unwanted club record.
Whilst Liverpool were unbeaten for a long period prior to that, they have lost their way on home soil and have suffered in recent months.
Nonetheless, after Chelsea booked their place in the last four of the Champions League yesterday, Tuchel shared his thoughts on who he would prefer between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
The German, who reached the final with PSG last season, admitted that ‘in general’ he doesn’t like playing teams from your same league in the Champions League and hinted that he would prefer playing the La Liga outfit, as quoted by the Express.
Tuchel is doing some job since he replaced Frank Lampard at Chelsea, with many seeing the 2012 winners as potential underdogs heading into these final few hurdles.
But Liverpool will be hoping to join them, and they do have a history with Chelsea in semi-finals, but the Merseysiders task is much tougher.
Whilst Chelsea had a 1-0 lead from their first leg showdown with Porto, the English champions are 3-1 down.
Either way, whatever happens, all eyes will be on Anfield tonight, as the six-time winners aim to muster another remarkable comeback.
