Demarai Gray may have scored only ten minutes into his Bayer Leverkusen debut on Saturday but, if the former Leicester City star moved to Germany in search of more regular game time, he could be a tad disappointed.
Initially, at least.
Because Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey, two of the most exciting, productive and thrillingly quick wingers in German football, are already plying their trade in Peter Bosz’s team.
Not for the first time this season, Bailey and Diaby combined to devastating effect during the 5-2 thrashing of Stuttgart at the Bay Arena.
That ensured when Gray come off the bench midway through the second half, all that was required was a glacier cherry on top of a very tasty cake.
Then again, with Bailey dreaming of a move to the Premier League (SportBILD), it seems Gray wasn’t brought in to sit on the bench and make the odd cameo appearance.
The former Birmingham City starlet feels every inch a long-term replacement for Leverkusen’s Jamaican sensation.

Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal all scouted Bailey as he netted twice in Leverkusen’s Europa League clash with Sparta Prague in December (Daily Mail).
With 11 goals and nine assists, the £36 million-rated, former Gent star is in the midst of his most impressive, consistent season at the Bay Arena, taking on talismanic status in the post-Kai Havertz era.
And, presuming the Premier League trio took notice as Stuttgart were ripped to shreds by Leverkusen’s ravenous front line, Bailey’s dream move may have just moved one step closer to reality.

Here’s the reaction of some fans to Bailey’s display on Twitter, including one Spurs supporter who liked what he saw:
