Kris Boyd told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (20/02/21 at 1:20 pm) that the English pundits on Sky ‘need to tune in’ and watch Rangers perform in Europe.
Former Blackburn captain Tim Sherwood claimed that he expects the English teams currently in the Europa League to be amongst the favourites to win the competition.
After host, Jeff Stelling listed other possible candidates, such as Roma, Ajax and Rangers for that crown, the former midfielder dismissed the idea.
Sherwood then boldly claimed that this season’s Europa League final will be an all-English affair, which didn’t sit well with Boyd.
This is what was said between Stelling, Sherwood and Boyd about the Europa League.
“I think (Tottenham’s) best chance of getting into the Champions League is by winning the Europa League,” said Sherwood. “When you look at the betting for that.
“Who are the favourites? Man United, then Tottenham, then Leicester and then Arsenal. I mean it’s going to be one of the English teams.”

“Well, Rangers, Milan, Roma, Ajax,” Stelling listed as other potential candidates to win the Europa League this season.
Sherwood responded: “Without disrespecting them sides I think the favourites will come. A couple of seasons ago, we saw a Chelsea-Arsenal final. I think we are going to see an all-English final.”
Stelling: “Kris Boyd, I have to tell you when I mentioned Rangers, they are sniggering here.”
Boyd added: “I know. I know. They need to tune in and watch what’s happening up here, Jeff. They should tune in on Thursday night. They were unbelievable on Thursday night. What a game of football.”

Well, it was four’s galore in the Europa League from the British teams on Thursday night.
The Gers put four past Royal Antwerp, Tottenham and Manchester United also put four on the board, whilst both Arsenal and Leicester were held to draws.
Either way, it does seem as though at least one of the above teams will reach the Europa League final, and given Manchester United have dropped from the Champions League, they are perhaps the favourites for it all.
