Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing a potential Arsenal target.
According to Sky Sports News, Spurs want to bring Brighton & Hove Albion star Tariq Lamptey to North London.
But Arsenal have long been linked with bringing him to the red part of the capital.
CBS Sport have reported earlier this year that the Gunners wanted the former Chelsea youth at the Emirates Stadium as a long-term replacement for Hector Bellerin, who looks set to leave.
Here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted to Tottenham’s reported interest in the player:
Arsenal or Spurs?
It says a lot about both clubs that neither is as exciting an option as it might’ve been a few years ago.
Arsenal have just finished eighth in the Premier League for the second year in succession, one place behind Europa Conference League-bound Spurs.
If Lamptey has another stellar season with the Seagulls then 12 months from now he’s probably going to have much better options on the table.
It goes without saying that both North London club needs a right-back because, in addition to Bellerin likely leaving the Gunners, Serge Aurier is linked with a move away from the Lilywhites.
But signing the 20-year-old would be more of a coup for one of the clubs than for the player himself.
