Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard scored twice for France’s Under-21 side in their EURO U21 qualifying win over Switzerland Under-21s.

Why does this concern Arsenal fans, you may be wondering?

Well, according to The Transfer Window Podcast (1:49) in September, the Gunners submitted a £15 million offer to Celtic for Edouard’s services.

After that was rejected, the podcast states that Arsenal submitted an increased offer worth £20 million with £2.5 million in add-ons.

It is also said in the podcast that the north Londoners have been monitoring the attacker for a while now.

Edouard scored twice inside 23 minutes against Switzerland’s Under-21 side, with his brace proving crucial after Colin Dagba was sent off in the 58th minute.

Out-on-loan Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi – who was shipped off to Hertha Berlin over the summer – also featured in the win.

The 22-year-old – who Celtic signed for £9 million from Paris Saint-Germain – would be an excellent signing for Mikel Arteta.

Last season, he netted an incredible 27 goals in 45 games, while also registering 19 assists.

So far this term, Edouard has six goals in 13 games for Celtic, along with two assists for the reigning Scottish champions.
