The former Arsenal and Palace striker rates Zaha highly, and he said that it will be interesting to see if clubs make big offers for the former Manchester United winger this summer.
The 27-year-old was on the radar of the Gunners in the summer of 2019, with then Arsenal head coach Unai Emery telling The Guardian in May 2020 that he wanted the club to sign him instead of Nicolas Pepe.
Zaha himself said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE in June 2020 that there was a chance that he could have joined Arsenal last summer.
Interestingly, the Ivory Coast international winger has been linked again with Arsenal, with The Daily Mail reporting that the North London club are still interested in the 27-year-old.
Meanwhile, former Palace forward Clinton Morrison believes that Eagles fans will not begrudge a move away for Zaha.
Wright said about Zaha on BBC Radio 5 Live (8:40pm, July 27, 2020): “He nearly went to Arsenal. It would have been a magnificent move for him. I thought he needed it.
“It’s going to be interesting to see who comes in for him now. Yes, he’s worth a fortune to Crystal Palace, but then you are talking about a lot of money for Wilfried Zaha in a depressed market.”
Morrison said on Sky Sports News (2:34pm, July 26, 2020): “I think the time has come now. Most Palace fans will say time for Wilfried Zaha to move on.”
