Jamie Redknapp told Sky Sports Premier League (06/03/21 at 5:05 pm) that he ‘nearly fell off’ his sofa after hearing reported Leeds target Adama Traore hasn’t scored or assisted in the Premier League this season.
Without star man, Raul Jimenez up top, those from the Midlands have struggled to showcase their attacking intent and have languished in the bottom half of the table.
One individual Wolves to look towards is their speed machine, Traore, whose thunderous shot last month resulted in Illan Meslier scoring an unfortunate own goal during his side’s win against Leeds.
Even though that’s the closest Traore has come to finding the back of the net this term, those in Yorkshire are still seemingly keen on his talents for the summer, as reported by Eurosport last month.
Whilst those in Leeds still see something in the former Barcelona academy product, Redknapp made it clear that it’s ‘not good enough’ that a player of his quality isn’t causing more damage in the final third.
“You said it that he’s not had an assist or a goal this season, I nearly fell off my sofa,” said Redknapp.
“That’s not good enough for a player of his quality. I couldn’t believe it. But he still has the most successful dribbles. It just doesn’t make sense.”

You could just imagine the havoc Traore would cause in a Marcelo Bielsa system and how his skill set would keep even more opposition players awake at night.
A certain Raphinha is dancing his way to success in a Leeds shirt on the right flank and it would be interesting if Leeds fans would like to see the Brazilian be complemented by the Spanish speedster on the other flank.
Either way, it will be interesting to see if any money is put on the table for Traore in the summer because he is the type of talent you would risk to take a punt on.
