Patrick Bamford has left Leeds United fans sweating over his fitness.
The 27-year-old striker went off injured just before half-time in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Elland Road.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa failed to offer an update on the hitman’s condition when asked about his injury after the game.
The visit of Chelsea was Bamford’s 100th appearance for Leeds and 13 goals in 28 Premier League outings this season indicates that he’s a huge player for Bielsa.
But it remains to be seen when United fans will see him back in the first XI.
And here’s how some of them reacted on Twitter to the blow:
Leeds are 12th in the table and only five points off a top-half finish as things stand.
Given that this is their first season back in the Premier League since 2004, it’s been a fantastic return and Bamford’s injury jeopardises that.
They certainly won’t be getting relegated this season but a fit-and-firing Bamford could be the difference between a top-half finish and Bielsa will be desperate to have him available for the coming months.
