Lyon boss Bruno Genesio has told the club’s official Twitter account that he can’t totally rule out selling Tottenham Hotspur target Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

Ndombele, 21, came up through the ranks with Guingamp before impressing with Amiens, and he spent last season on loan with Lyon, with a view to a permanent move.

The midfielder starred for Lyon as they reached the last 16 of the Europa League and finished third in Ligue 1, with Ndombele bagging one goal and seven assists over the course of the season.

Ndombele may not have done quite enough to sneak into Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the World Cup in Russia this summer, but he remains in the thoughts of top clubs.

Recently, Sky Sports reported that Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Ndombele, though no talks have been held despite him becoming one of Mauricio Pochettino’s top targets.

With questions over the future of Mousa Dembele, Spurs may be in the market for another midfielder who can carry the ball and drive through midfield, with Ndombele fitting the bill.

Lyon may have activated their purchase clause on Ndombele, but his future may not lie with the French side, with Tottenham – as well as a host of other clubs – thought to be keen on offering Lyon a massive profit this summer.

Now, Lyon boss Bruno Genesio has told the club’s official Twitter account that he wants to keep Ndombele, but he cannot guarantee that the midfielder will be staying, admitting that it’s far too early to make a move.

“I want to keep Tanguy Ndombele,” said “We want to keep our structure. After all, the market is crazy. You never know. It is far too early to say that all the doors are close,” he added.
