Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has suggested that he may not be at the club if it wasn’t for a meeting with chairman Daniel Levy.
Ndombele has spoken to The Telegraph after a superb performance against Newcastle United last weekend.
Many were hoping that Ndombele would really kick on after that performance, in which he scored a superb goal.
Against West Ham United today though, Ndombele couldn’t quite have the same impact.
The Frenchman recorded one key pass, one shot on target and one interception, but no successful dribbles – quite the drop from four last week.
Tottenham ultimately need Ndombele in the side though, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield lacking creativity right now.
Ndombele on his Tottenham situation
At one point over the summer, it looked like Ndombele may have been leaving Tottenham.
The Athletic reported in August that Ndombele had told Tottenham that he wanted to leave the club.

Ndombele has knuckled down and got back on track at Tottenham though, and a meeting with Daniel Levy may be the reason for that.
The Frenchman has admitted that he had a ‘good meeting’ with Levy over the summer to thrash out his future.
Ndombele admitted that the meeting may have saved his Tottenham career, seemingly sparking him back into life as he looks to justify his £200,000-a-week wages.
“If a chairman is seeing something that he is not happy with it’s normal that he wants to speak to the player about that,” Ndombele said. “It was a good meeting, I listened to what he had to say and he listened to me too. Perhaps if I’m still at Tottenham today it’s thanks to that meeting,” yea dded.
