Tottenham are reportedly considering Napoli striker Victor Osimhen with the star seen as the ‘ideal replacement’ for Harry Kane – and Spurs have the perfect chance to beat Chelsea in the race to sign him, thanks to Tanguy Ndombele.
Osimhen, 23, has finally started showing what he is capable of after joining Napoli from Lille in 2020. In his first two seasons at the Serie A club, he did well – without excelling. He scored 28 goals in 62 appearances for the Italian side.
But this season, the Nigeria international has taken his form to a whole new level – scoring nine goals in 12 games. His form is attracting interest from the Premier League. CalcioMercato say Chelsea want to sign the £87million-rated ace.
Now, Italian journalist Rudy Galetti says Tottenham are interested in Osimhen. That is, if Harry Kane departs with Bayern Munich interested. Conte sees Osimhen as the ‘ideal replacement’ for Kane, who has a contract until June 2024.
If Spurs are to do a deal for Osimhen, though, they will have to elbow Chelsea aside. They might have the perfect chance to do just that – and that is thanks to Tanguy Ndombele and his impressive Napoli form, on loan from Spurs.

Tottenham considering Osimhen: Spurs have chance thanks to Ndombele
Ndombele was loaned to Napoli in the summer. He is impressing for the Serie A league leaders, who sit six points clear of Milan. The France international has an outside chance of making France’s World Cup squad, thanks to his form.
Indeed, he is likely to make his 17th appearance of the season on Tuesday night against Empoli. Napoli, then, will be tempted to turn his loan into a permanent deal. According to ESPN, Napoli have the option to do that for £26million.
That gives Spurs a real chance to sign Osimhen. If they are going to pursue a deal, they could agree to sanction the permanent exit of Ndombele to Napoli – perhaps reducing the cost, by taking it off Osimhen’s price tag.
Given Osimhen is worth £87million and Ndombele can be bought for £26million, perhaps Spurs reducing that clause and including him in a deal along with £65million to £70million might tempt Napoli into selling Osimhen.
