Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs made headlines following their NBA Cup clash with the Oklahoma City Thunder
For starters, the NBA community loved how the San Antonio Spurs finally put an end to the OKC Thunder’s 16-game winning streak with a 111-109 win.
The win also helped the Spurs reach the 2025 NBA Cup finals as they’ll take on the New York Knicks for the championship.
On top of that, Victor Wembanyama is back from injury, and he’s as good as ever. After all, Wemby dominated the Thunder in just 21 minutes off the bench.
NBA fans think Victor Wembanyama is recruiting Chris Paul

Following a solid performance against the Thunder, Wembanyama was captured talking to his former teammate.
And it was none other than Chris Paul, who was recently waived by the Los Angeles Clippers in the middle of his retirement tour.
The two stars were talking, and NBA fans believe that they may reunite soon.
“Wouldn’t be surprised if CP ends up a Spur again,” a fan wrote. While another added: “He should retire a Spur.”
“Put CP on our coaching staff,” a third fan urged.
“He needs to come back to help the young guys,” a fourth fan stated.
“CP3 should have stayed a Spur,” a fifth fan chimed in.
All things considered, a majority of Spurs fans would love to see Paul back in San Antonio in a veteran or even in a coaching role.
Chris Paul spent one season with the San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs currently have an 18-7 record as they have climbed to the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
Wembanyama and co. are showcasing their talent, and many believe that Paul deserves some credit for their growth.
After all, Paul spent the 2024-25 season as a member of the Spurs. More importantly, he played in all 82 games for the team.
Sure, he averaged just 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, but CP3 emerged as a veteran leader for the organization.
Will fans once again see him join forces with Wemby after parting ways with the LA Clippers? Only time will tell.
