Arthur Masuaku has completed a loan-to-buy move to Besiktas from West Ham United this week, potentially ending a six-year spell at the London Stadium – and both Jarrod Bowen and Nayef Aguerd have reacted to the move.
Arthur Masuaku, 28, has decided to leave West Ham United after managing just 21 appearances in all competitions last season. Under David Moyes, the left-back has struggled to nail down a place in the starting XI, despite being in Europe.
He has joined Turkish side Besiktas until the end of the season. West Ham have confirmed on their official website that there is a permanent clause included in his move, which will become active at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Masuaku’s contract at West Ham – which is worth £43,000 a week – is set to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season. It means that next summer, he is likely to be sold. It gives West Ham a larger chance to do that, if he joins Besiktas.
Masuaku has completed move to Besiktas: Bowen and Aguerd react
It is a good move for Masuaku. While Besiktas under-performed last season, he is joining a club where he will get regular game time. He will also be fighting for the SuperLig title this season, in front of a huge crowd and club.
Aaron Cresswell remains first choice and the Hammers have been linked with a number of left-back options. Juventus ace Luca Pellegrini has been linked, while Moyes is waiting to hear back regarding a move for Filip Kostic.
Both Bowen and Aguerd took to their Instagram stories to react to the move. Bowen posted on his Instagram story: “Good luck my brother, will miss you.” Meanwhile, new signing Aguerd said, similarly: “Good luck, my brother.”
It is unclear how much Masuaku’s permanent fee is worth, included in the loan.
