Clinton Morrison hailed debutant Max Wober and in-form forward Rodrigo following Leeds United’s 2-2 draw against Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The former striker pointed out that, as soon as Wober came onto the pitch, he ‘smashed’ Cardiff’s Joe Ralls, which he described as ‘naughty’, but he added that the January capture made an impact from the bench.
Whilst Wober didn’t start in defence, he was impressive in his unfamiliar midfield role, whilst Rodrigo scored Leeds’ opener, before going on to watch his penalty being saved at 2-1, with youngster Sonny Perkins then saving the afternoon in stoppage-time and booking a replay with the Welsh outfit.

Jesse Marsch used his contacts pretty well once again by making Wober, who can operate as a left-back and a centre-back, his first January capture from RB Salzburg.
Well, the versatile defender certainly left an impression on the Yorkshire faithful following his opening 30-minute cameo from the bench.
It wasn’t just Wober and Rodrigo who impressed from the bench yesterday because Perkins scored the equaliser, whilst Cody Drameh also produced a positive display, with Morrison praising Leeds’ senior duo, as he told Sky Sports News.
On Rodrigo: “Jesse Marsch brought him off the bench, his 11th goal of the season, he always makes an impact,” said Morrison. “He has been outstanding so far for Leeds this season.
“They would be struggling without him. I didn’t know that he had scored that many goals. He has been really good. He makes an impact. They have no Bamford, at this moment, they do need someone to score the goals and he has delivered for them this season.”
On Wober: “He came on and smashed someone straight away, Joe Ralls. I thought that was a bit of a naughty tackle, then I am thinking ‘where has he come from?’, then you see it, he is the new signing.
“He came on for about 20-25 minutes. He had a bit of an impact and then the game lifted when the substitutions come on. But I want to see more of him.”

WOBER TO START AGAINST ASTON VILLA?
Whilst Leeds survived an FA Cup upset, their next Premier League opponents suffered the shock of the third-round.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, despite taking the lead, were beaten 2-1 by League Two Stevenage, who scored a late winner to dump out the Premier League outfit.
There’s no doubt that Villa’s morale will be on the floor for their Friday night showdown with Leeds at Villa Park, but should Wober start given his introduction from the bench?
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Marsch throws him into the XI because he is deserving of it.
